Slow Stitch

Slow stitch is a new form of meditation. The idea is to not think too hard, just find your rhythm and get in the zone. My Art Group challenge this month was to use the inspiration of an artist by the name of Pauline Burbidge from Scotland. I chose to emulate her stitch drawings of nature. My new plant I just picked up for Easter was the perfect subject. I am enjoying the process very much, mostly because it’s very freeing and not at all precise. I love loose work and this fits my esthetic just fine.

Runaway Train

Last couple of years I felt my life was like a Speeding train – a little out of control. I decided I was the metaphorical conductor and could decide the speed of my train. Also, who I could invite on and who I would kick out! Digitally manipulated photo printed on cotton and made into a Photo Fiber Panel.
